  • Hmm, have you been checked for gestational diabetes?
  • It might be carpel tunnel. Pregnancy can sometimes bring on carpel tunnel due to the swelling in your body. Talk to your doctor about it.
  • No not yet they r going to due my test on it this upcoming Tuesday... y is that a reason for it?
  • @doodle... really.. well it jus started and its really painful and won't go away it affects me really bad at night..
  • It could be...I have had Juvenile Diabetes since I was 3 years old and when my glucose levels get high, my fingers or hand will sometimes go numb or kinda tingle like its been asleep but I know it hadn't.
I'm not saying this is definitely it but it is a possibility.
You need to discuss this with your doctor, very soon. If diabetes is it, it's nothing to mess with, especially while you're pregnant.
  • Talk to ur dr.! It could be a pinch'd nerve in ur neck or base of uir neck. U can sleep wrong on ur neck and being pregnent ur sleeping position changes from ur normal. U could have even picked something up wrong. Try iceing ur neck & upper back for 15 min 2-3 times perday. U can use an ice pack or even frozen veggie pack. The ice will reduce inflamation that's putting pressure on nerves.
  • My mom had this problem when she was pregnant with my baby sister.. sometimes it would happen while she was getting ready, or cooking/cleaning, and sometimes she could just be going to bed when it would start! The doc told her it was carpel tunnel and was very common in pregnant women bc of swelling!

Sounds like pregnancy induced carpel tunnel, at least for your hand/wrist area. Stretching my fingers and rotating my wrists helps mine. Carpel tunnel in your elbow is called something else & would effect the arm from what I've read. Call your doc :)
  • My wife kept waking up with same feelings in her ARM. Dr. Said it was carpel tunnel and gave her a splint to wear while she slept. Helped a lot.
  • Yea that wat I have I went to the doctors ASAP this morning and I was given 2 wrist bands that go halfway up my arm they help a whole lot.. so now I know wats wrong.. and I found out I have diabeties which is causing the swelling that's causing the carpal tunnel as well.... thank u so much everyone for ur advice.. I appreciate it... :)
  • I'm glad your feeling better and everything is now taken care of!
