@kings ok...thks. will look into it.@ drgon....thks fo4 your support. I think the stress of tryin to stop makes me wanna smoke...nerves are bad bc I'm tryin to stop.@mum oh my. So sorry to hear of the trouble your having. Don't worry it will be ok. Don't stress.
I read over this post because I have the same issue and was completely offended by the one moms post. I understand its bad for your child but seriously...the comment was not neccisary at all. Its not easy to quit esp with all of the stress some of the expecting moms are under. Its nice to see that other people don't judge you. Sometimes the drs make me feel like shit because of the things they say. I'm sure everything will be okay and I too am going to look into the electronic cigs with no nicotine.
Trust me I am too. Are you scared of what she said or something else? I know a friend who just recently had a baby and she smoked throughout her pregnancy and so did her mom and grandma and the babies were perfectly healthy and everything. Its hard to quit believe me I know and I get judged for it all the time but my dr said everything is fine with my little one:)
@fetherolc I am in my 6th week today. Ive had over my normal amount for today...5 cigs since 7 this morning. Im stressin myself to much. Are you pregnant as well? and if so how far along, and you smoke correct? How much do you smoke a day and how are you planning to quit? Sorry for all of the questions lol!
I'm almost 18 weeks:) congrats And I wouldn't worry about what she said. I don't think she had a right to judge. I read and didn't scared I just thought it was rude and b****y. They actually have some kinda pill that the dr can prescribe so that you won't even crave cigs. I'm gonna ask about it and let ya know:) be happy that you are preggo and enjoy it.
If u really want to quite go onto whats valled the e ciggret all it has in it is the nicotine not the bad stuff and u can wing ur self off of them trust me it works good luck
Lol questions are cool I'm 18 weeks ^^ and I do smoke. I've been keeping it under ten but even then I don't smoke a whole one anymore so its like a waste:) I'm trying my butt off to quit but with some baby daddy stress it makes it hard. I cry all the time over stuff he says and that drives me to smoke. I feel guilty everytime I do so I just don't smoke the whole thing.
@blessedmom11 I always said I was never gonna smoke while I was pregnant but once I became pregnant it was harder to quite then I thought I didn't quite until I was just about 8wks and had my first ultrasound and got to see my baby for the first time!!!! I'm 33wks and still crave them all the time but you just gotta stay strong its not easy but worth it!!!!! And don't listen to people that are rude your child is not going to hate you at least your trying the only thing I know of is it can cause low birth weight sometimes .... my sister smoked her whole pregnancy and had a 7lb baby her doctor said if she wouldn't have smoked she would have ended up with a 11 to 12lb baby lol but anyways I think you will be fine just gotta have faith in your self!!!!!! Good luck
I wasn't trying to be mean. I was just trying to use tough love. Read the easy way to quit smoking. Cutting back keeps you addicted. My wife smoked a pack a day for fifteen years and she stopped. I'm just concerned. And don't believe saying things like good job on cutting back is supportive. Maybe get some candy cigarettes so you feel like you're smoking.
I think I gotta say bad idea with the candy smokes they only make u realize how bad you want the real thing I used sunflower seeds when I was prego last time they worked for me my husband used gum that was his thing everybody has their own after I had my baby I stated again now that I'm havin another I'm quittin again. The main thing is you don't just smoke its a habit to after dinner lunch etc cutting back actually helps you break the habbit OF smokin just no the addiction
@wacovic I understand you weren't trying to be mean but maybe wording it differently would have been in your best interest, that's all. Obviously you are a daddy which is awesome. BUT, you are talking to people who are pregnant..hormones already going crazy and all around overly emotional, there was a different way for you to go about saying it. We get upset over the littlest things lol and that probably set our emotions in the wrong direction. Saying "good job on cutting back" when the person who is concerned about it is worried..well its just nice to know people understand and don't judge. We come here for support, not to have judgment passed on us.
@jess510 I just think its something that needed to be said. There is a lot of stress on all of us mommys-to-be. I myself am a single mom or soon to be. I don't mind at all though. The father is there when he needs to be and is preparing himself for a baby but, it doesn't mean that I'm under any less stress. I've cut back tremendously but its still hard. I'm envious of those who have the BD there for them but I also have an awesome support system. I come on here to share stories, and experience and love reading what others have to say and not to be judged. I find ironic that the morning I wake up thinking about how what he said offended me he apologized in the best way he knew how and the first discussion on the board is about respecting others mistakes and what not. Hopefully people will read it.
@fetherolic I take medication that can cause withdrawls for the baby and I haven't been able to cut back/or quit due to anxiety. People would probably judge me for that as well
