@kenzie0713 Geez it's just a breed of dog. You're defending them like they're your children or something. Like people are crazy to not want these dogs. I don't understand why you're taking it so personally. People go on and on about how much they hate cats and how cats are mean and nasty and yes I grew up with cats all my life and never had an issue but to each their own!! I don't give 2 craps if someone hates cats lol
@starrxoxo9 I do take it personally bc unfortunately in some states these dogs, even puppies from birth so even 3 weeks old are euthanized if found stray or taken to the pound and I personally rescued 2 over 10 years ago and have battled to find places to live because of their reputation. My dogs are like my kids, any responsible dog owner will tell you the same and if you go back to my original post I simply wish people would make decisions and comments based upon facts to possibly help this breed. It's stereotyping and I strongly dislike that. I wasn't rude to frantastic I even said that's a horrible thing to deal with but I will stand up for what I believe in. I'm not saying people are crazy for not wanting a pitbull everyone is entitled to their own opinion I don't care if some one wants to have a gold fish or a flipping chimpanzee but will always correct something that I know to be false. @excitedforoctober no I don't care that you don't agree it just really rubs me the wrong way when people don't make informed statements and are judgemental when they obviously know nothing about the topic they are speaking of. I respect intelligence and appreciate an informative conversation. I'm sorry that you are being so close minded. PS I never instructed you to listen to me and for the record hi I'm McKenzie, since you were curious, I'm 28, from NY love dogs, kids, doing hair and long walks in the park
@pregoagainYAY thank you (: and she was supposed to but came the 27th lol she wasn't going to be told when her b day was lol and @Mrz_Jackson it wont really matter if you spend 20$ or 20000$ on a pup because I've seen first hand either can be good or bad one of mine was free and the other was 400$...only thing I have heard is that the blue colored pits are more prone to have behavioral problems because they have been over breed to keep that beautiful color...I have a blue and agree she is way more destructive then my other and her life goal is to figure out how to escape the yard but she is the best behaved towards my daughter which I believe is because she has been raised with her
@firstTimeMommy0928 yea my husband wants the bully pit an I just want all the paperwork an stuff the cheaper ones like n the paper an stuff don't have any papers or anythang about them I def don't want that
@kenzie0713 i respect your opinion, however you proved my point right after disagreeing with me. I understand this topic hits home because it caused you problems before, but you as well cannot go around giving everyone a piece of your mind just because they cannot agree with you. Sometimes it is ok to agree to disagree. This argument is clearly not going anywhere, and should not continue. Everyone has their mind set, and we should all just let this go.
for the record I feel that you were very rude to me. I based my opinion on my actual experience not the media. But it's ok because I got what I deserved. Oh and according to someone else I'm ignorant too for coming to that opinion. Thank you @perly you are absolutely correct, this is why Pregly is now a closed forum.
@perly we are allowed to disagree as long as its done the right way. I have yet to give anyone a piece of my mind and for any of you that have been around long enough you would know what actually caused this to be a closed forum. @frantastic I'm sorry you feel that way, that was not my intention. You shared your story I shared my opinion in a respectful manner. I think what you dealt with was horrible as I previously stated.
I forgot to add @Mrz_Jackson that I highly suggest crate training if you get a puppy or an adult at that...it has been my life saver...after dealing with a couple of nights of crying they both slept in a crate and when they out grew it they still sleep in their designated spots without roaming the house
@kenzie0713 you are right, we are allowed to disagree as long as it is done right but so far this thread has gone completely off topic. I've been here for as long as you have, so trust me i know why the forum was closed. Like i said before, i understand your point about pitts being looked down on based on the actions of a few. I mean it comes down to everything, its not fair to assume that one certain thing is bad based on a few that havent turned out so well but umfortunately it doesnt work like that. Not everyone has that mentality.
I really do want you to know that i mean all of this in the nicest way possible. I guess my point is that when you see that its clear that something cannot be agreed on, its best to let it go. You do what you think its right. I mean, this can go on for days but its not necessary. I hope you can see that your time is a lot more valuable than explaining your beliefs to someone who clearly sees different.
You really feel that you were respectful? We must have different definitions of the word because I found you to be rude and attacking for having my own opinion. You and the other women who told me I'm ignorant and deserved to be attacked because I tried to save my dog.
The last sentence of her one post was because I had a bad experience and didn't like the breed was "it's not fair, it's not right it's ignorant" so I did feel that I was called ignorant. I'm not over reacting at all. It's very upsetting because all I did was tell my story and I got put down for it. Anyone would be offended by those statements.
And you ladies should re-read my post because I never once put the breed down, said that they make me uneasy and I don't want pit bulls around me or my baby.
Lol I'm done with this conversation. @fantastic I tried, not my problem if you want to be that way. I was respectful and factual but if you want to be the "victim" in this conversation, not your situation, then be my guest, the floor is yours. Any person who interrupts animals fighting can not do so without expecting to get bit, common sense...not saying that its fun or that I wish that upon anyone but its a fact that by doing so you will prob get bit. That's not rude it true. @pregoagainyay no matter what we say our words are obviously going to be twisted, I quit we proved our points based on fact not opinion so if that makes us rude or whatever else then so be it
If I were bitten by any dog, id be apprehensive of them being near me. Especially a breed as menacing in appearance as pitbulls. Ive seen what these animals are capable of, but have decided to have one as a pet and dont regret it. I am still very cautious because in my mind, anything can happen... Weve raised our pit with unconditional, spoiled rotten love and I still would never think because of that hes not capable of causing harm. They can have a bad day just the same way we can. I hope to never experience that though. Its kind of funny though that even we have a pit, im still alittle nervous of them when I see them outside. U just cant assume theyre all raised well. Id take the attack of a littlr pooch but bully dogs? I cannot even imagine what that mayve been like. I wouldnt turn around and get one either solely because of my experience, to hell with the facts of it.
