Well im going natural just because of the risks if epidurals. But most of the risk are low so it really depends on what youre comfortable with. Only you can decide that.
I had an epidural, yes It did help with the pain, a lot.. but I hated having my legs feel like dead weight. I couldn't even roll onto my side without some help. And they were so numb. I was afraid to stand when the nurses told me to try. I think I might go natural next time.. but It does help with pain. Couldn't feel contractions.
I got an epidural n loved it some drs say if your in to much pain u don't progress or as fast as u should.side effects I had non and I don't know of anyone or any baby's who have. U will know if u need it or not don't totally write it out having the option is good.
I had an entrithical the first time. I'm thinking epidural this time but maybe intrithical again. I could go natural it hurts so bad I have friends who have fainted from the pain. I was induced the first time and will be this time. I heard induction hurts worse. When you are in labor you will know what to do. Now people who ho natural and want natural no matter what need a safety word. Good luck to ya
i went natural but with an open mind, wanted to see how far i could get just breathing through it and using gas... if i felt i needed to have the epi i would have done it. you cant always plan how things will go so i figured better to go in with an open mind
I have had 3 epidurals so far...only first time was with labor and i loved it. Going fromhorrible pain to no pain was great and i could still feel when i had to push.. Only problem was baby was coming out butt first so they wouldnt let me push. so ended up having csection. I have had no bad side effects and no back pain from it.
I had an epidural and it was helpful while I needed it. I easily could have walked, I felt every internal check I got, and I felt my contractions and had I delivered vaginally I think I would have felt everything, but the pain wasn't that bad. I had a button that I could push to give me more medicine, and I really didn't push it at all, so maybe that's why it wasn't so strong. I didn't like needing a cathetar, tho, that was uncomfortable. I had no side effects from the epi. But I think that you should keep an open mind going in. I'm not a big fan of birth plans because things can be so unexpected.
Natural is tough, I am TERRIFIED of needles so I learned about natural as much as I could and discussed with doc at length before hospital. Hsbd and I had a safe word I'd use if I really couldn't take it, he would comm my wishes. But we did great! I laboured at home, was comfortable and safe so dilated quickly over 9 easy hours. Water broke so we went in, 10 cm, pushed, no tear, breastfed, then walked into the shower. Felt high on hormones for hours and felt so proud. Good luck with ur birth!
Kristy you already know I'm wanting an epidural. But the odds of something actually happening to you aRe pretty slight and rare. Of course everyone is going to research about all the negative things. But I know a lot of women our age that have had the epidural and nothing happened to them or their heaLthy babies. I'm not dissing natural birth at all to all the above I think thats great if you can go through with it. But I know I can't. There's nothing wrong with that.
I had my daughter natural. It was great. I walked for 3 hours and pushed her out in 30 min. I never took any classes. I just figure ill do whats comfortable for me.
I had an epidural with 2 of my children and I have had horrible back pains ever since...kinda feels like a pinched nerve...with my first daughter I was taken off the medicine for the epidural and pretty much was in labor for 24 hours with no pain meds....it really isn't as bad as it seems...pretty easy for me and it was my first and I am only 4"11 so if I could do it then most could...but every pregnancy is different so if it gets too bad then get an epidural but I was told there is only a small window that they can give you an epidural
@kennedymonroe11 They turned it off before I started pushing but it takes at least 3 hours for you to get feeling back in Your legs. You can stand when you are ready to But you have to have the nurse help you. I stood probably about an hour ina half after I finished giving birth.

If you think you want a natural birth, take a class for it. You'll be a lot more successful at it if you know how to breathe and manage you pain.
