13.5 weeks and high risk
New to this hello all. I am 23 yrs old o have a almost 6 year old son and two angels in heaven on that. Left at 11 weeks in pregnancy (2nd pregnancy) and my Nathaniel who was born w a congenital heart defect he only lived 6 days on this earth. The most pain full thing of my life was to bury the son we had long wanted and hoped n wish for his survival. He was my 3rd pregnancy. And now almost 2 and a half years later we are expecting once again. Even though I'm terrified of something going wrong again I have a lot of faith. We r due nov 7th and I'm high risk bcus of my past 1st pregnancy I got a cervival cerclage put in at 24 weeks and again w my 3rd pregnancy. I am now consulting w a specialist who is not so sure if he wants me to get the cerclage put in. I'm almost 14 weeks and its time for it to go in but he wants to wait n see me in 3 weeks. Ill be 16 weeks than. He also did a 2d ultrasound and this baby looks perfect but as a mommy of course I worry. Any words of advice?

Are you having a fetal echo with this pregnancy to look for heart defects since you have a history? Just try to relax as much as possible until then and hoepfully you will get good news and put your mind at ease. I know that is much easier said than done. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or just want to talk. Good luck!
@juliek77 I am so happy ur son survived ... I'm sure the beggining was very stressful. As for my son Nathan he suffered of a lot of heart defects I don't even know where to begin. by the 3rd month of pregnancy went to my reg dr appointment when she went to look for the heart beat it was really slow and off beat she right away sent me to a specialist to only confirm his heart defect. We did a bunch of echos ultrasound and I even did the amniocentisis since they thought there mayb more to his defct it turned out to be he was healthy except for his heart. I went up to 3 times a week to get ultrasounds n echos and to see a pediatric cardialogist. He than told us that if he made it to birth it would be a miracle. He did. The closer we got to my due date I had a entire team ready for his arrival w a plan. It was truly in gods hands when he arrived he was seen by the best dr in the area. Dr Ilbawi Nathan had many defects. He had what the dr diagnosed as left atrial isomerism w congenital heart block. = which wen he was born they were able to see exactly what he had. = aortic stenosis, (narrowing of the aorta) atrioventricular septal defect (hole between both lower n upper chanbers) with all of that he had an arithmia also. He went in for surgery at 3 days old where he got a temporary pace makers and they put a stent in to his aorta to allow blood to go thru. He did great for 3 days( he wasn't expected to make it thru surgery n he did he stayed w me for a total of 6 days his heart couldn't take it. The right ride was just to weak it gave out. I remeber those hours ...he left 2 times but they brought him bak to us. But eventually the only thing keepin him was his breathing tube n temp heart pacer. We had to go home empty handed only to have to bury our son. It was the hardest thing ever. but I've had a great support system n we been able to survive his death. I miss him dearly n not a day goes by I don't think about him.
My oldest is now so excited for a new sibling. I can't wait to see them both together. Thanksfor sharing ur story ur one of the lucky ones
@millicent good luck to u ....this is my 4th pregnancy I hope we both get to hold our kiddos in our arms can't wait.
@HomeBirthAdvocate this would be my 3rd cerclage if I get it. My 1st one was put in at 24 weeks I had started dialating. W my next cerclage my new dr didn't wanna take any risk so got it put in at about 12-13 weeks. Now w this one my dr sent me to a specialist who thinks if its not nessacery why put it in. I only worry bcus what if it is nessacery n he doesn't. Wanna put it in but....I guess doc know best.
@juliek77 it's amazing the technology now adays I was an expert at my sons heart by the end of this all lol seeing it thru ultrasound 3xs a week and all. My son also had 2 artery umbilical cord and also his stomach was on the opposite side ( many ppl have this but never know it and live just fine) I know if he would have survived my boy would have had many struggles. Thank u very much for your support
@Oregonmama us your Dr not putting a cerclage in. Ill get one if my cervix shows any change. But I've already had 2. Good luck to u oh and I am 14 weeks 2 days today lol I posted this last week.
