My baby lungs arent developing!(update)

edited September 2011 in Third Trimester
I have to travel to Chicago to a special hospital to see if my baby will be ok... The fluids in her stomach are pushing up and causing her lungs not to grow... I'm so scared... Her heart beat is still strong and she's still very active... So I hope that means something... I hope she'll be fine...

  • My daughter was born at 36w6d and her lungs stopped developing around 32 weeks, both lungs were collapsed at birth and she was sent to Nicu where she was put on a cpap machine, g tube, iv's, and feeding tube. Even though she was big physically (6pounds11ounces) her lungs were very immature. I found out about her lung immaturity about an hour before my c-section and was scared more than imaginable. But thankfully, she is doing great now.
How far along are you? Trust me, keeping your baby in as long as possible will probably be what the doctors want, and that is what is best. I'll be praying that you get the same, or better outcome than I did! Inbox me anytime if you need to talk!
  • @ everyone... She's fine... Basically if the fluids stay the same they'll let her bake until I'm 38 weeks... But if they increase they'll induce next week... Long as its not affecting her heart the doctors feel more comfortable about it... I go to the doctor twice a week to get an ultrasound and a echo heart ultrasound just to be on the safe side... @ll10 I'm 35 weeks... @mybabe yes ill be traveling twice a week for now on... @MyBamBina28 It's Christ hospital in Oak Lawn... I live in northwest Indiana so its about 45 to 50 minutes away...

Sorry the update took so long... I was in that hospital for 7 hours getting every test u can think of done... Lol... But I feel a lot better knowing what I kno now... Thank all u ladies for the prayers, god knows I need them...
  • @preggotimes glad everythings ok and hopefully it'll stay that way , where at in northwest indiana are you? I'm in terre haute, but have a house and family in nothern indiana
  • @preggotimes3 glad everything is stable and still praying for a positive outcome :)
  • Keep us posted... sounds like your getting the next prenatal care. Be blessed!
