Target Nurse in

To any mommies wanting to support bf....

There was a mommy who was harrassed in a Target store in Houston about breastfeeding in public. They are now planning a nationwide "nurse in" they have a facebook page/group "Target Nurse In"

If u wanna participate! Please share with fellow mommies!!!

    Their policy completely supports bfing moms, however, they need to teach their employees to follow their policies and not let their feelings if shame and inadequacy get in the way.

    Well @jdensma what is covered to you? Does that mean an actual cover which this woman was using by the way or using nursing tops or a carrier. I don't use a cover I use my Mei Tai and people can't even tell. People act like women walk around with their tits out! That's not the case the problem is that no matter how covered you are people still have a complaint. There is this idea that breastfeeding is gross and should be kept in privacy. Well sorry it doesn't work like that. Breastfeeding is NATURAL it was the only nourishment for babies for the longets time, it is the best thing for babies and its not something to be ashamed of. If someone is uncomfortable they are the weird ones. Bottlefed babies don't need to go into the changing room or be stuffed under a hot blanket so why should my child?

    This happened at a Taregt in Texas but the nurse in is nationwide if you go the Target Nurse-In fb page you kind find a listing of where other mommas are planning on going so you can join them.

    @jdensma I completely agree with you, its wrong and uncomfortable when a woman just whips out her boob in public. Cover yourself! Just bcuz you are comfortable with showing your tit in public does not mean the public is comfortable with seeing you.

    Women show their tits all the time when they show all that cleavage in low cut shirts! But I do cover when I bf tho. But I'm not going to a private room..bathroom(eww), my car, etc. Sometimes my baby may nurse for 20-30 minutes! I shouldn't have to stop what I'm doing to go step in a changing room. Ridiculous! IMO

    I think those who think a bathroom stall is good to BF should go eat dinner in one and tell me how it was having a meal listening to peoples' BMs and how many times did they think about the cleanliness of their accomodations... Oh wait, as long as it isn't them... Silly me D:

    @mommimisha the page is; Target Nurse-In if you can't find it Ill try to get on the comp and post the link. And to yyou ladies who say cover where are you where you see tits flapping about? When I nurse you can't see a thing except maybe a quick glimpse of nip when latching or if she readjusts and really if you see that you are staring waayyy too hard and please back up off me! I also find it hard to believe that there are women out there rampantly hanging their boobs out to nurse b/c I have only ever seen one woman nursing in public EVER and she was using a cover. Now I'm sure there are a few and they are probably trying to make a statement I say more power to them boob doesn't offedn me but I can see it being offensive. That does not mean that we all must hide out in a nasty bathroom or car or whatever. And if you don't get that YOU have a problem not me and YOU need to deal with your complex that causes you to worry about what harms no one and nourishes a baby. Once again Nursing in public does not equal giving a titti show!

    I love this and people really need to be more open minded when it comes to breast feeding in public. I never breastfed but how could u NOT support these moms? Its natural and should b allowed everywhere. Of course dont walk around w ur boobs hanging out... Whos really gonna do that anyway? If u do walk around w ur boob hanging out... Well then u have bigger issues. Lol.

    I don't personally nurse in public just bc I'm not comfortable with it. But I find it funny when I where my moby wrap in the store (which is prefect for nursing if I did) I see so many ppl trying to peek in and see whats going on. I think to myself all u nosy ppl!! They r the ones that would be mad if I was nursing in public but they r the ones breaking their necks to see! Haha crazy ppl

    I nurse in public all the time (when im out) idc What anyone says its normal to breastfeed and I will not just not feed my crying.baby Because im in public and you shouldn't have To be covered breastfeesing iS natural beautiful thing and u should be proud I wouldnt cover up or go in a private area people did it back in the day what's so wrong now....Nothing is people are ignorant, they can shove It I will definitely be doing this

    We walked into our local Target on Sunday the 18th and a lady was breast feeding in the snack area. Nobody seemed bothered with it at all.

    I nursed my son for 4 months and never nursed out in the store or resturaunt. I was too nervous bc i had never seen anyone nurse in public....i did once nurse him in a dilliards dressing room..but was stalkered by the store security guard the whole rest of my time shopping....after that i had to nurse cramped up in my backseat wwwaaayyy out in the parking lot so some old perves sitting in thier vehicles didnt watch! Wish i was still nursing...bc i would soooo do this nurse in....i plan on going to target with my baby simply to support other mommas!

    I've nursed in Ross.Target.Marshells.BRU.bowling alley.walmart..I haven't pump in long while...

    I always nurse in public and to be fair iv never had a problem with an individual or establishment so I feel Im lucky but I do cover his head so most people dont notice but I will never refuse my baby a feeding because someone else is uncomfortable! :)
