My dad has to pay back tens of thousands of dollars to the IRS every year. If he skipped a year they would take from his paychecks. No matter what they will get the money!
When u file ur 2011 taxes they r automatically goin to take watever u owe out of it an if u have money left over u will get that. If ur not filin 2011 taxes they will garnish any money ur receivin except didability or ssn. I kno cuz they jus took half my return to pay taxes I owed from 2009 am I was payin it off. U definitely need to respond. They r gon get there money regardless an they r very aggressive about it. Also the longer u don't pay the more interest builds up.
I owed about 700 from 2010 bc I took a hardship loan from my 401k bc by fiance got laid off. When I called the IRS they said I was supposed to claim it but most times the 401k companies don't send anything so people don't know they need to claim it. The guy at the IRS extended my pay back time to Apr 17 and said when I claimed this year they would take it out of there. I claimed and they just took it out of my tax return. If you call they can setup and payment plan...I would do that bc you don't want to get behind to the point where you can do anything about it. Also, he told me if I didn't setup anything they would take out of my paycheck.
You don't file taxes in your unemployment? I believe the IRS can garnish your wages from the unemployment too. The IRS will fund a way to get their money sooner or later.
I did unemployment for awhile this year but I had taxes taken our if each check so I wouldn't owe. If u don't get taxes taken out then u owe the irs the taxes from ur employment too. U should call them an tell them ur income. I kno they have services/payment deferrments/payment options for ppl wit very lil or no income. I would have to look st my own paper work they sent me to tell u exactly wat tho
@roxy how long has it been already? The longer u wait the worse its gon b. u r not dealin wit a credit card company. There is no way around them gettin their money. U can move change ur num it don't matter they will eventually find u as soon as u get a job or start receivin any type of money or get a bank account. If u don't call they will jus take their money an they not gon care they u need it to pay ur bills. I contacted the irs made payment arrangements an they STILL took half my return. The fees are outrageous. Don't screw urself jus call. If u don't plan on ever workin or gettin any kind of assistance then don't cal I guess but eventually ur gon have an income an they will find out. May not b immediately but eventually they will an when they do they goin take watever they want til they r paid back. Dependin in how much u owe they may even send someone out to find u. Did u see seven pounds? They really do that shit.
@naliibby2 no that has nothin to do wit the irs. Dependin on how long its been u may jus owe the gym etc our they may have sent ur account to collections. If its on ur credit then the latter. U can pull ur credit report to find out or u can try callin the companies u owe.
O ok. definitely call an make arrangements. They t pretty reasonable if ur income is low. I wrote an told them I could only pay 30 a month they wrote new back an said it was too low I had to pay at least 33 a month lol.
