@MommyLovesSparkle; no need for an apology. This is a very sensitive subject and I didn't want backlash aimed at your opinion, when most are expressing how if one can self-pamper then they can definitely provide food for they families. Yet, instead they live off the government to self indulge and expect the tax payers to keep footing the bill. I think I've summed it up, from the comments above.
@captivated; What gets me is that some potential transplant recipients are denied services, but yet they provide fertility services? There is something wrong with that picture.
@bexiewexie its not just about the iphone i understand it might be a gift or cheaper whatever. But when you have a ring on every finger (besides your wedding ring) that gets tricky bc cant you sell them to provide for your family? Or if you always come with a coach purse its the same too. What about always having ur nails and toes done? I dk it just lisses me off that people who actually need the help are most of the time denied as we were twice that we askedfor it and really needed the help but everyone else who is just being laxy or having kids for fs can it makes me sick
@bexiewexie I am in the same thought as you. Ever since Marquis lost his job he has been on unemployment. Which after we pay our bills we have $300 to last all month for food and whatever Scarlett needs such as diapers. Of and it goes we have to make it work for gas for the car. I have clean clothing from before all this and I try to make myself look put together. But at the same time there are people like his ex wife who lies about her income because she's hairstylist so they can't track it and about her husbands because his personal trainer. Well they get so much help. Like food stamps, medical, wic. They had baby year ago and are trying for another. This would be 3 for her. Oh and she tries to make us feel bad so we can give her more child support. Oh and by the way all these things she has told, me herself when Marquise, lost his job age was telling me how she just lies and has had all this help for many years..so I'm not judging her just repeating what she said. I however am not going around lying because if I don't get some sort of help that just means someone else needs it more. Oh and u should hear her talk about all her shopping. It makes me sad that she is taking advantage of the system. When there are people who need it. I am one of those people who would love another child but we are waiting to hear from his job so we don't have to be on unemployment and worry about what if and but have things for the kids.
I do not usually get into things like this, but I am literally the only one in my family (7 kids), that doesn't get assistance, so I feel I can relate since they're all lazy (FACT) [Except my parents, they work their tooshies off and still get assistance]... Anyways, my sister got pregnant with her fourth baby, directly after she went to the doctor to make sure, she said the most awful thing. --->>>"Yaaaaaaay! My food stamps are gonna go up!" I could have punched her in the face. And that says how much it irritated me since I am non-violent, and always relaxed.
Oh my god! @fate. Some people have no shame or pride. Ummm, yes, your food stamps will go up...but you will have MORE food costs with another mouth to feed! Smh.
@kristaf22 its kinda is true in a way my tatoos all together cost $400 so if ur asking for assitance and just got a fresh tattoo something is fishy.. unless u have the hookup or something tatoos are expensive well at least the ones ive been too my hus ands were about $500 all together and nailstoo they arent cheap thats jmo. Of vourse we wanna look nice but if you r screwing over the system asking for help but have ur acrylic nails and pedi done something is up =/. Bc ehen i needed assista.ce i didnt have mobey for anything let alone nails and having my cell paid ita was turned off idk guess its different for everyone
Exactly. Who's proud to rely on benefits? I don't work, because I don't have to. Call me lazy, but I see it like this: If I got a job, I'm taking that job from someone who might really need it.. My husband provides everything, even insurance.
I have seen girls drive up in a damn Lexus, nails done, hair done, new clothes, shoes, and nice jewelry on getting cash assistance, and food stamps. Im like what the hell...theyre getting paid to upkeep their lifestyle...which is obviously a very expensive one. There are people out there who actually NEED that assistance. Such bs!!!
@captivated (thought I should tag you because of the amount of notifications you'll be receiving from this thread...i should also commend you/everyone else for creating/maintaining this debate so maturely!)
I didn't mean to imply that PURE socialism was the answer. However, there are far too many people who are quick to forget the time/s their family was in need. We live in a mixed capitalist/socialist society. As many here^have demonstrated ("I used to receive ___ assistance. But now, I work my a** off...) Far too many people are willing to take help when they or their families need it...but when they're doing well, they adopt the attitude "I brought myself/my family out of the gutter, why can't everyone else do the same?" But for most, its really a matter of timing.
Idk, if I (being close to part of "the 1%") can cut people "living off the system" some slack (and vote for the Democrat with the most socialistic tendancies), why can't the people who have assistance do the same for their fellow humans?
@salasmommy during my late teens/early 20's all my friends were sinking money into tatoos (even on the cheap from friends...sleeves cost$$$). I was spending money (that would've gone to ink) on my teeth. Now that we're in our 30's, guess who wishes they had spent their money differently? (Just to give you a clue, I'm the only one still giving a toothy-smile for cameras!)
Lol...still paying for bf/bd's teeth ('cuz he's too wimpy to get everything done at once) and his aunt/2nd mom's teeth... Idk, send me a pics of your tatts (maybe ill set up a fund for the awesomely -inked!)
I recieve benefits but I also work. I pay my taxes like everyone else. Those same taxee that pay for govt assistance. Now I hate when people dont work..dont plan to work and still plan babies and receive benefits. But if you work hard and do what you can do...then I dont see a problem.
@wilsomom this is off topic. Does ur small business generate a decent amount of gross revenue? If so try incorperating it cut out taxes by half. You can deduct a dollar amount for home office I charge my company 500.00 a month for garage and office instead of 10% of everything a lot of benifits.
@char we have thought about incorporating, but it seems expensive & we don't really know how. We really need to for the liability protection because we are starting to get some pretty big clients. I must say I am Queen of tax deductions though. Lol I use as many as I possibly can...legally of course, but I try not to miss a dime. Don't you need a lawyer and everything to Inc.?
Nope my husband did ours I want to say it cost less than 200. There is work to be done like bylaws and all that. I think our accountant charges 500.00 todo everything. I am the same way with deductions but we paid around 10,000-15,000 b4 incorp and around 5000.00 after. Infact we are getting ready for a tax free vacation in Orlando tuesday (corperate meeting) and we have to have one every year.
I finally found a job after months of searching. We get medical and fs. All my cash goes into the rent, bills, and kids. We have no cable or internet. I have a used DROID bionic i bought for $40 that bd pays the service. When i go in the office i have my hair done, lol not. Nails done, not. Lol who i kidding? I look like shit when i go in. I dont even have clothes. My kids come first.
@Mom2ING Im in the process of doing that actually. Working full time just makes it a harder task to accomplish but im still attempting. I didnt graduate high school so I have to go back for my GED. All the classes are scheduled on days I work. The night classes..I have no one to keep my daughter. So I plan on doing my GED testing while on maternity leave. Also..just so you know..i didnt just decide to be lazy and not finish high school. When my mother had my little brother his full responsibilty was thrown on me. Except for financially. I went to school..worked..came home..took care of him..got him to bed and up and off to daycare in the mornings. It was so much for me to handle at that age. That on top of more family stress led me to start missing days so I didnt pass my senior year because of so many absenses. (Didnt mean to throw my whole life story at you but I didnt want you to think I just quit)
@wilsomom I've incorporated for $100 on my state. It's less in some states. You just fill out a form you can download from the secretary of state's website, and send it in with a check. Easy :-)
@mom2ing yea my grades in school were never a problem. Its just my moms lack of responsibilty at the time brought me down. I had to play mommy. Things got the best of me. Bad thing is..it was 2nd semester of my senior year. I was almost done! If I could go back 2mrw I definitely would. Its just easier said than done. If I had finished high school it would be a piece of cake..I could just take online classes. But unfortunately I have to start back even further.
@mom2ing im working on moving into an income based apt(not govt housing..I wont take that much govt help..I take what I need..not everything I can get) Anyway..im trying to do that and possibly I could cut back on hours a bit since my rent will be cheaper and then that could leave me more time for school. I currently dont receive childcare assistance because I can afford her daycare. And like I said..I only use the govt assistance that I absolutely need(WIC and foodstamps..only been on foodstamps 3 months)
Your tax money is gonna end up going somewhere and there's a possibility it could go somewhere that you think is worse then where it goes now...i'm just not one to judge on things like that whether it's family or not
The amount of money spent of welfare is pocket change when compared to the U.S. budget. Don't get me wrong I agree that people should not have 10 kids and be collecting welfare, planning on having more. However I stopped working for about ten months and took what I could. The way I see it is I paid my whole adult life they could give me a refund (btw not complaining that I paid during the year and got a nice refund I cut them a large check every year). It is pretty sad when you work till April just to meet your annual tax deb..
