Developmental delays
@captivated 's thread about asperger's has got me thinking... I wonder if something may be wrong with my 4 year old daughter, but I'm not sure. She was a little slow to talk, she gets frustrated easily, & I don't really know how to explain it....but she just doesn't "get" things. She doesn't get things that my 3 year old gets. She'll talk about something totally random that has nothing to do with anything, even if you ask her a specific question. And sometimes she hesitates when asked a question like she doesn't understand what you said. The dr. tried to test her hearing, but she didn't understand how to tell them when she heard the sound. (my 3 year old did) I homeschool so idk how to get her tested or if I should. If they find something wrong will they force me to put her in public school? Or can she get services while I homeschool as well? She had no physical delays & she's not totally awkward 100% of the time. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

My nephew may have aspergers. He's met with a specialist once or twice
Not completely sure.
She has violent episodes where you want to knock her out. I mean she beats her mom up because she will not do anything to her. Her adult sister on the other hand will hit her back, i swear its like she has learned that so she doesn't try to hit her sister.
By smart I mean she needs to be skipped by several grades. In fact she quit doing her work bc she was bored and tested several grades up. Since she refuses to do any work the school refused to advance her.
I hope this helps.
I took her for an evaluation at the school and they said they didn't see anything major wrong, but to bring her back when she's 5 for a full evaluation. I guess they couldn't do any real formal testing until 5 years old. They did say she seems a little delayed in some areas, but may just be that she's immature and to come back in January if I don't see any improvement.
