@aandk1031 Definitely not trying to change your mind, in fact, for the most part I agree with you and I am really really really not trying to create a conflict here but I'm curious about your intentions. If you are worried, is your intention to help the women in this post or to make your opinion known?
I have been sympathetic many times to women who are trying to quit. You will notice I use the phrase "smoking heavily" many times, as this indicates no desire whatsoever to quit. These women need a reality check, not a pat on the back. The risks and dangers are real, and ignoring them doesn't make them any less valid. @lilbun915 That being said, I'm not trying to create a conflict either. I just know for a fact that if you tell a woman struggling to quit that "it doesn't always cause problems to smoke while pregnant" or "its more of a risk to quit", that when they are faced with a decision to smoke or not, the addiction will win and remind them that "it doesn't always cause problems, it's okay this one time". That is setting them up for failure.
@aandk1031, I hear ya I hear ya. Thats an excellent point "it's ok this one time" I guess I just feel like if a woman is going to smoke, she's going to, because nowadays EVERYONE knows how dangerous it is.. pregnant or not.
