  • I'm lucky enough to have a gay male in my life who is basically my father.. for my first son this was a touchy subject I had no clue about so we had a group discussion with a ton of adult gay men n some straight men n everyone said don't do it numerous reasons. so all my kids are natural n have not had issues..everyone to their own I guess I for one couldn't deal w the thought of how painful it was..who r we to say it doesn't hurt baby's don't talk.
  • @juneduebug: my insurance covers it.
  • Ok i don't why yall's medicaid don't pay for it but where i live it does.
  • @hurtsk28 Where r u from? Medicaid covers that procedure in Ga also!

I'm having a girl but if it was a boy I'd be getting that skin cut right off!!
  • I go to kaiser and they cover it...
  • Every guy I have talked to about their penis was happy about it no matter if they were snipped or not. Having asked a couple guys if they would change it the answer was no. Being circumcised is basically for religious reasons (unless you choose to do it because it appears neater or cleaner) there have been a couple guys that I knew didn't properly clean themselves and yes opened themselves to infection and yes had to get circumsized at a later age. If properly taken care of it poses the same risks of infection as a person who is circumsized.

A friend of mine had her son snipped and well.. the doctor didn't do a very good job. Her not having a penis of her own didn't know this until a couple of us told her that it wasn't complete. Like he left this kid mostly uncircumized and he got an infection where his foreskin shouldn't have been. Not sure if I explained this right, but he had to go get it repaired at 5 years old.

I think this should be a decision that you and your bd make in the best interest of the child and what you want to do. It is completely up to you, just make sure you have the facts, that way if anyone asks why you can back up your decision with facts.

Me personally, I'm not getting it done just like I didn't get my first son done. I know as long as it is taken care of then it will be fine :)

As for the ear peircing thing I refused to let my daughter have it done until she was old enough to tell me she wanted it. My parents got my ears pierced and I don't like it for one and two I got a backing stuck in my ear that I had to have removed. I told my daughter if she wanted it she had to be old enough to take care of it. Just my opinion on that :)
  • Yes mine will have circumcision
  • Im having a girl but if i was having a boy he would have it done. I don't feel the need to explain why.

  • I had my son circumcised, it wasn't even a question for us. Having just moved from Cali, I have not heard that it's being put to a vote. Personally, I don't think a 2-3 day old is traumatized by it. What about child birth? That is painful for the baby as well as the mother and is likely traumatic at the time, but it's not like the baby remembers being born. They cry because of the painful first breaths, but we don't stop creating babies. Circumcision is an option for a parent and it doesn't make that parent lazy, that is ridiculous.
  • If i have a boy he will be circumcised....i don't care bout research...me n daddy both want him to have it done...end of discussion :)
  • Noway would I ever circumcise my babyboy, i have a friend who did her son, she said never again whould she do that, if it wasnt ment to be there, it wouldnt be, I think.
  • Will not circumcise my son there is no proof it causes infection that's a myth just keep it clean. My fiance and none of his family and friends are and none of them had problems. I find it unnecessary unless for religious reasons...
  • You will even have drs tell u the same at least I have that its unnecessary also food for thought there is more bacteria in a vagina then an uncercumcised penis but we are just cutting up out vaginas to make them "cleaner".
  • @Tootie08: i live in Tn.
  • Its not really a popular thing over here has someone's said but I've been with 2 guys who had it done and they hated it tmi but it took them like 30secs-2 mins to cum always and that's why they hated it
  • Most the men I know also do not want to be circumcised.
  • @praying4our3rd haha with one of them though it was like normal before he had it done had it done at 23

  • My son will be circumcised. Its mine and my husbands choice, it doesn't make us lazy. Everyone has their own opinions.
  • It is the parents choice on whether they want their son circumcised or not. My personal choice is to not get my son circumcised, his father isnt and he has not had any problems his whole life, if you teach them how to clean it right they should be fine. And the united states is one of the only countries that circumcises.(unless for religious or medical)
  • My son is and if this baby due in Nov is a boy, he will be also. It's not because I'm lazy or religious...its just a personal choice I will make for my newborn son.
  • I have a boy on the way &he will be circumcised.
My bd was not circumcised &eventually had to be because at around 12weeks old he could not pee...
If he would have just got it done while a baby he could have had a less painful experience ..
I also have 2cousins (twins) one circumcised other was but it did not take... &let me tell you from experience not just "I think" .. I know that keeping the circumcised one clean is 100xs better for the baby to avoid infection &(not meant to. Offend) I think it looks 46763333xs better than a uncircumcised penis..

  • This might be tmi but I m going to tell you this bc it is my reasonings behind getting my little not circumcised when he is born. My grandpa was never circumcised and he went to Vietnam and ended up with what is called just jungle rot. He is a very clean person and take 2 showers a day but in the army you can't and he asked me if I ever had a not to get it done. He said there is no reason not to it cuts risk of infection by 99 percent.
  • That is not true!!!!!!!!! Its not more or less sanitary!! any dr. will tell you that.. Its an unnecessary and i do think its a personal choice.. what helped my decision is that my bd is uncircumcised never had any infections... hes 30, Ive had two boys and neither are circumcised!! they have not had any problems.. I think we have to teach our boys how to clean there privates and if you fail to do so .. circumcised or not you lil man risks getting an infection.. and the rate of circumcision has gone down significantly in the last ten years.. like i said its a personal choice.. im one to believe the way God made us is the way we should be.. and there are some horror storys of drs. taking too much off.. and i dont know about you but i dont want to cut my boys short.. lol
  • jay_brad :-( thats actualy a condition.. poor lil guy.. was probably in pain.. they check for that condition when they are born.. but thats a good reason to get one for yours... genetics and all..
  • I'm on the fence lol.. I don't care either way but for teasing or him being lazy is my worry. Gettin it done and infection from feces and othercontaminants worry me with it being done lol. As for knowin how lazy cnas at nursing homes are, they don't clean the penis properly and I think of tht. Ugh I hate thinking about this
  • My husband was never circumcised, if they clean themselves properly they should be fine. He's perfectly content and so am I . This might be tmi for saying this about your lil boy. But when he grows men uncircumcised get more feeling when making love. Just saying.
  • @Cetheridge no! Thats another thing! why would I do that to my baby girl!!! If she wants her ears pierced she can get that when she's older and has the ability to use words.
