  • @jaime77 wats so wrong with giving ur baby ALL of ur attention?! Y not give the pet to a family who can
  • Yes I would sacrifice things for baby to keep our dogs. My baby doesn't need me 24/7 daddy can watch her although id like to b with her all day everyday. We already havedays set aside for her to go the gmas so we can get the dogs out for a well needed run.

  • Life happens and sometimes pets do have to go. I would pick my kids over my pets any day. Does this make me a bad pet owner? I love my furry babies but if for whatever reason I lose my job and it comes down to my kids or pets. I would take care of kids first. U shouldn't judge someone one based on a post they made.
  • @mimibrowneyez36 i jus dont understand how that would make someone ignorant or lazy. Shit i must be willing to be the dumbest person alive cuz if it ever comes to that point my baby will get all of my attention. Before anything and anyone else
  • I 100% agree hun! I hope you find a place to rent willing to accept your dogs.
  • Sorry my baby comes FIRST! But thats just my opinion. No need to agree with me!

Im sure the ppl who had dogs chew off their babies fingers wouldnt get rid of their dogs either.
  • I'm not against giving pets away lol I hope I'm not coming off like that. I have 2 beloved dogs but if agression starts in and I can't train them, then of course they will go.To prepare them, I've been pulling on thier tales and touching thier eyes n noses, so far my pit doesn't mind but the golden nips. :(
  • My dog sleeps too much to care about anything anyway. I had to force her to wake up to go pee.
  • @ExcitedNewMom exactly. I would sacrafice myself before my child anyday so I know good & well I would sacrafice my dogs for my baby. Id rather be a great mother over a great pet owner any day! I would love to be both but thats not always possible! If I have to choose then being a mothet comes first..ALWAYS! Sorry if that makes me a bad person.
  • Aww man u would prob hate me. My bf has 2 dogs that I tolerate. If I have to walk them I refuse to pick up poop (get yelled at all the time from people walking by) lol and if it wouldn't break my bfs heart I would have tried to give them away a long time ago. This according to u makes me irresponsible lazy and a horrible parent to my children?? Dam I didn't know that having my son in a private school giving him everything that he wants and needs making sure his grades stay above a 90 and always put his needs before mine and anyone elses makes me a bad mommy. I think maybe I should reevaluate what I'm doing wrong. Smdh!!!
  • @praying4our3rd I've already put that she's been raised around kids that have dropped her on her head and drug her around by her tail. I wanted her to be around the worst possible situation. Why are you trying to find faults in something that I've been planning carefully for so I wouldn't have to give her up? I told you, I don't go into taking responsibility for something lightly. I havent said anything negative to anyone about giving the pets up, over been giving my story. I would expect the same respect please.
  • *I've just*

i have a dog two cats and two tarantulas ... now i love them all dearly but if in any case one of them were to injure one of my children i would not hesitate to remove them from the equation. you're clearly as hormonal as every other pregnant woman on this forum but can you honestly say if your "kid dog" attacked your actual child you wouldn't protect him or her with your life??? even if that meant losing your pet and or doing what ever it took to remove it from your child??? i would bash its freaking head in if it attacked one of my babies and never think twice! if you answered no to any of these questions then maybe you should have a pysch evaluation. my pet is absolutely harmless, wouldn't bite if his life depended on it... but i'll tell you if he were capable of harming my kids he'd be going to the shelter i adopted him from! although i love my dog he can be replaced my sons cannot! good luck with your next rant.
  • I think you all need to go back and read the OP, because I just did and not once did she say anything about choosing pets over the safety and well being of children. Nor did she once compare children to pets. All she did was compare the stresses of owning an animal to the stresses of raising a child. No mother in their right mind is going to choose a pet over their child. Words and ideas have been added to this post that have no place to be here, but leave it to pregly to take everything to the extreme. Im a dog groomer myself and sharean infinite love and passion for animals and I totally relate to what she was referreing to as irresponsible people. The people who jump into owning an animal without fully researching or being prepared and then take no responsibility for that choice, they just pawn it off on someone else. There will always be circumstances where it is necessary to find a pet a new home and that doesn't make a person a bad pet owner. End my little rant lol :)

  • @praying4our3rd she's been around me keeping kids her entire life. I'm just saying don't fault me for something that was planned carefully to avoid that drama. If something was to happen, there is training and if that doesn't work then I will cross that bridge when I get there. You guys have a great day, I'm tired of defending myself for something that had alot of thought put into it by me and hubby. I'm going to get my tan on while my dog lays ina float next to me!
  • Its already 90 here and sunny! I got 2 weeks left so I have to enjoy it
  • Oh and I will never answer that question because hopefully I will never have to. ;-) I try to be positive about everything.
  • Ok well thanks to several comments in the beginning I know this thread is about me... and WOW I am irresponsible and lazy because my dog shits in my house and I cannot train her to not? So let see... I will get rid of her! Yea I'm sorry if that makes me an irresponsible pet owner(not really I could honestly care less) because I feel better knowing that the dog that I have no attachment to is going to be in a better home, and possibly outside with other dogs and that my children are not crawling in shit and piss stained carpet... so if by being a good mother that makes me a irresponsible pet owner, I guess I am a proud irresponsible pet owner. I know people have animals which they claim are their children which is ok for them, but when it comes to my children and them have a clean sanitary place to play and crawl its a no brainer to me.... Since we decided to vent ill go ahead and say when I hear people tell me to keep a dog because it should be like a child to me when anything influences what my children are exposed to especially when I think about my daughter crawling on a floor the dog shit on let me just tell you my child comes before any animal and human, ANYTHING!!!! if you have a problem with that maybe you should re-evaluate you lifestyle because I don't think its healthy for you to say you would even think about your poor animals when it comes to children.
  • nope but she left it open to interpretation so she really just wanted other people to bicker back and forth and sit back and watch... she's commented on her own post a total of what 3 times after her OP???

  • I highly doubt baby is going to have allergies. Have yet to meet one with allergies to a dog. And there are things u can do for allergies and vets can give u things too. So if allergies are the issue ill do evrythin to make it not an issue but I'm not getting rid of them. And I'm pretty sure my dr said allergies go based off parents. Mayb ill have to ask him again but
