WIC (questions) **Update**

So I have an appt this week to apply for it. I was just wondering if its hard to get? I make about $1,000 every 2 weeks, am a student and not married. Think I have a chance?

Idk what state you live in but here in NY I think the cut off is $1700 a month...do you have Medicaid? You automatically qualify for wic if you do.

@starrxoxo Illinois. No I dont have medicaid. When I called to make an appt they said they "think" I qualify. All I want is free milk damn it! Lol

In Louisiana, if you qualify for food stamps, or recieve medicaid you automatically get it, but I don't know what the monthly income stops at. I'm sure you could google it, though.

It's easy, but 1000 every two weeks is alot! You can say that but I really don't think you'll get it.I saw the requirements and its max. 565 every two weeks.

Oh but wait, I think you count as 2 people when you're pregnant, so the income limit is higher. As far as your bd/bf just say you live alone.

@Mommy2IsaiahNGiselle I am but we are not married, when I made the appt they just said to bring my proof of income in. if they ask for his we definetely wont qualify

I live in GA and my husband makes around 1200 every two weeks and we qualify.

if u make a 1000 u can get it I make around the same n I put im married n my hubby makes over 20 an hr

Hmm I honestly don't know.they asked my income I had Medicaid and they asked my bf income he makes like around 600 every two weeks. I hope you do get it. The process is easy but LONG.lol I was there for 3 and a half hours.but if you qualify you get it the same day!

Actually you do count as two people while you are pregnant...you're feeding and nourishing the baby. For wic, I'm a family of three me, my baby in my belly, and my husband. And you do get wic if you're just pregnant, and with no other children. For being pregnant, I get 4 gallons of milk, bread, cheese, $10 for fruit/veggies, peanutbutter, juice, beans or tuna, eggs, evaporated or dry milk.

See in florida it really was not that hard. It took longer to get seen by them then to actually deal with them. They ask what you eat, as you if you take vitamins, drink, smoke.. they wanna know if your breastfeeding or not. Basically to make sure you are healthy.

@KalikoJenie I called today and they gave me an appt for tomorrow! If I say I'm going to breastfeed will they still give me milk/formula once baby comes?
