Why does milk back up into the line of my pump and is there a way to stop it?

You should specify which pump. Mine has a feature that doesn't allow that to happen.

I have the same pump and if I lean forward it gets in my tubing. I have gotten so much better at it since im going on a year. it just takes time and practice. I would say this is probably your issue.

It's an open system pump which is why they don't want people selling. Double check the inside, I have seen milk back up and mold.
