  • Yeah they didn't give me much time at all.. I felt pressured.. my nurse was awful.. but still not as mean as @trisha a page back.
I don't remember or not about them working clots out... but I think I remember vaguely some pushing on my belly afterwards. Not sure though
  • Catheters are the tube that goes in your pee hole to drain pee from your bladder.

  • I never got a catheter when I had my epidural. They just made me pee in a bed pan.
  • 1. Epidurals don't always work on everyone
    2. Induction does not mean you will actually have the baby vaginaly. If you fail and induction you will most likely have a c section especially if you water has already broken
    3. Try to sleep when the baby sleeps, but know it won't always happen
    4. You first period after delivery will be heavy....really heavy
    5. If you have a spinal block for c section, you may become VERY itchy
  • lol & @robinlinlee83 yeah def weaker im not preggo now and havent been for 3 yrs and i still leak a little when i laugh really hard......my vagina looks the same.....it just doesnt feel the same.....:(
  • My bad experience was having to pee after getting the EPI and the nurse wouldnt allow me to get out of bed and i couldnt go in the bed pan, also after giving birth my legs were swollen. after i had my princess i was moved to another room with a nasty room mate tht bled all over the toilet and her baby wouldnt stop crying. i tore and when getting stitched up my doc pored steaming hot water dwn there . omg and no one gave me a heads up about the after birth i thought there was another baby .... i was 15 whn i had my princess . and i like this post its not to scare it to allow ppl to see every labor is diff in a good and bad way .
  • I dunno of it'll happen to everyone, but I had a csection, and I was alone for my spinal, and right after they laid me down and tied down my arms, I freaked, cuz it felt like there was a ton of weight bearing down and I couldnt control my body, I was literallt freaking, telling the.nurses and dr that I changed my mind, i'll wait til next week, I didnt calm down til my husband was by my side.
Also did anyone mention the itchiness for 24hrs after spinal
  • @Seifer12211 i had itchiness but not for tht long
  • @proud_mommyof2 they put morphine in ny spinal and they said that caused it, but it sucked..
  • Oh that sucks!
  • yeah i didnt even know about the placenta and all that afterbirth stuff for my first pregnacy (i was 17) lol

Oh and yes if you do a vaginal birth you are bound to poop while youre pushing just a Fyi they do clean it as it comes out theyre so quick and discrete about it that i didnt even know i was pooping untill they put the mirror thing so i can c down there but yeah at that point i didnt even care i was just eager to get my baby out lol
  • Nubaine is awesome tho for painrelief and easing the itch
  • o @ Mamato2boys i forgot about tht part lol i pooped my whole time pushing but my nurse made sure i knew i pooped and she had to clean it
  • while pregnant, morning sickness doesn't last just the first trimester- it can go alllllllll 40 wks

you loose all sight of your vajayjay

it is very possible to get pregnancy- induced carpel tunnel syndrome. resulting in loss of feeling, numbness, pain and irritation

you want to drink a gallon of water every 5 minutes

kidney stones happen often in pregnancy

labor: it's not uncommon for moms to poop while pushing (thank you Lord, not me!!!!.... knock on wood)

some hospitals refuse to allow you to wear a bra in labor

how dag on messy birth is

often, you have to deliver the placenta by pushing, just like getting the baby out

    babies don't cry right away

how incredibly uncomfortable the monitors are

if your waters have broken they don't want you to walk the halls

Post baby: you bleed and bleed and bleed

your nipples are so freakin so when u breastfeed

  • oh yeah and once your milk comes in you will feel "engoeged" or as i felt i said i felt like Pamela anderson lol my boobs were so hard and huge!!! and omg does it hurt to breast feed after your engorged........and i dont know if it was just me but even after breast feeding for a while (months later) i still leaked milk so i had to wear those nursing pads in my bra........and yeah after breast feeding exclusively it does get easier and the soreness is no longer there and if you feed your baby after you were "full" be cautious bc u might squirt his face lol or anyone nearby those things squirt milk out like water rushing out of a squirt gun........
  • Thank you for this post. I prefer the truth n gory details over the sugar coating. I know it's all worth it, bit I wanna know what I'm in for nn I understand that it won't happen to everyone.
  • I haven't even had my baby yet but I've already learned not to get your heart set on your perfect birth plan. Things change in an instance and its easier if you just go with the flow and stay relaxed. Freaking out doesn't do anyone any good :)
  • Do you get a catheter if your doing a natural birth?
  • I wouldn't think so.. no reason u would need it if u were doing natural
  • Yay :) enough pain to go through doing it naturally
  • honestly everything i read sounds pretty bad. i hate to be in hospitals , be around bitchy nurses, i dont think i would even feel comfortable room full of strangers staring at me naked, just looking at my vajayjay and on top it all those things im hearing just doesnt make me feel good. I was hoping to hear more positive experiences and only handful people responded:(

  • @mama_kat Placenta is freaky and I heard some doctors don't wait it to come out because it might not come out right after. They reach out and get it for you. I heard the best thing is for you to deliver it naturally. I just can't believe I'm about to give birth:) I read baby books, I refuse to watch real labor videos. I think its very gross honestly. And baby comes out all blue and sticky hahaha I mean it must be amazing seeing your baby for the first time but when your watching other people, it is not that great. Being too educated about birth might not be that good for me since ill be trying to control everything. I just wanna be able to trust them ,that they will be able to make best judgement call at the time. I Sometimes think women have given birth since beginning of time and they didn't need baby books and dvds to help them. They just needed a good midwife :)

  • @ashthurs Oh hun, it's really all worth it trust me... all the bad that happens, you quickly forget about it when they hand you that baby. I could have cared less about how disgusting my Vag looked, in fact EVERY nurse that came in after I had the baby, I was like... OMG... LOOK AT THIS!! and pulling up my gown to show everyone... it was quite hilarious. I'm a really private person as well.. but your not naked throughout the day, you have a gown, the only time your stuff is REALLY out is when you are going to push.. and by that point you really don't care anymore. lol.
  • yeah i agree with @robinlinlee83 Birth is not a horror story...i mean by all means me at 17 with the birth experience i went through you woulda thought i wouldve not wanted anymore baby's lol but 2 kids later and ttc #3 i must be crazy but the 2nd time around i had the ideal birth and everything went smoothly....just goes to show that everyones birthing experience wont be yours....its always good to do research so that you know what to expect atleast.....this time around i am planning on doing it ALL NATURAL! i feel crazy bc i woulda never went this route 5 years ago lol but we will c when the time comes.......Good luck to all you ladies and i guarantee u 100% that once you hold ur baby for the first time everything u went thru beforehand goes out the window and nothing else will matter.....i promise!
