It's probably the caffeine in all that chocolate. If you drink caffeine, it can cause Braxton Hicks contractions.

We live in Santa Monica, CA and pay 2250 for 2 bed 2 bath, utilities not included.

@maymommy11 you'll get the weight off, just be patient with yourself and your body! That's strange that she didn't tell you she doesn't deliver, how confusing for you. Your little boy is adorable, by the way.
-
@SaraS yes, I heard that is a sign of preeclampsia so I understand why they want to monitor the weight and make sure you're being as healthy as possible. But, you can't tell me that when these female doctors are pregnant - they are 100% perfect and…
-
@ExcitedForOctober that's what I thought, too, but I guess she thinks differently. Like I said, I can only do so much and I'm not going to start restricting my diet (it's already lean) because it's not good for the baby.
-
@VictoriaB your baby got his fair share of calcium and will be very strong! That is the way to look at at! I think doctors should focus more on the health of the baby and not make us moms feel so blah
-
@ll10 yeah, that is so true because 2 days ago I was 3-4 lbs. lighter and then today I noticed how bloated I was (which is why I took off my wedding ring - it was way too tight on my finger). I could see if I was gaining like crazy every month, but…

Thank you so much, @maymommy11. I was never a skinny girl (always a bit athletic and weigh more than I look) so I wasn't expecting to get through this pregnancy without putting on some weight, you know. I wish my doctor was nice like yours ;)
-
@Trisharose your doctor is harsh! I think you're right not to worry too much about it. If you're being healthy, exercising and baby is in good health, the weight should not be the biggest matter of concern. Here's to enjoying our pregnancies and …
-
@claudia25 I wish more doctors would focus on the baby! HA HA! Yes, my baby is fine and growing as he should. I think they try to keep your weight on track because they don't want you to develop any health problems associated with rapid weight ga…
-
@Kingsmama yes, when you're backed up it can make you hold onto weight for sure. Unfortunately, prenatals can make you constipated because of all the iron so you have to eat lots of fiber/bran and drink a ton of water. Still, you may feel constipa…

@emy next time give the doctor the evil eye and maybe he'll think twice!

Yay, congrats and so exciting!

@clope18 from what I've read, around the 27 week marker, most pregnant women gain between 16-22 lbs. The baby is growing and hormones change again in the 3rd trimester, so a lot can cause a weight gain. Try not to feel too bad about it (I'm tryi…

@Mommy_of_two agreed, everyone woman is different and I can only do so much. I was running and very active pre-pregnancy, but was told to stick to walking because I had a cyst on my ovary and low lying placenta. They wanted me to do easier activit…
-
@emy He really said that? I would have flipped. Gosh, don't they know how sensitive we are with all these hormones surging through our bodies? I'm sorry that happened to you and also that you are on bed rest. That must be tough. I've always bee…

@survivormommie3 I'm so glad I'm not alone in this! It feels awful doesn't it? And then when the doctor gave me a little lecture, I felt even worse. I'm definitely eating healthy and taking care of myself. I'm not perfect (cave in and have an ic…

You learn who your true friends/family are in times of need, unfortunately. I'm sorry you had to do so much on your own. Remember, it's OK to ask for help (pregnant or not). You're only human and right now, you need to be careful for you and the …

@FiRstTiMeOcT_mOm I would say something to your doctor. You may be going through all these hoops for no reason because of her team's error. That just stinks.
-
That sucks so bad! They are supposed to give you a heads up well ahead of time. My doctor gave me the drink to take home with typed out instructions so all I had to do was show up, say I needed the test and then they drew my blood.

with careful planning

I felt the first flutters around week 14/15 and then stronger kicks at 16 weeks. From what I've read on here, everyone starts feeling the baby move at different times. Enjoy the flutters in your belly! :)

I'm sorry to hear that. You should definitely still throw something for yourself and maybe think of ways you can save money while doing so. It's a big day and a special moment for you, so don't let her depression bum you out. Here is a link wit…
-
@mshahir that is horrible that you have had to endure such ignorance, especially from your mother! I think the true colors tend to come out in these types of situations and you can clearly see a person's motivations. It's good you severed ties. I…

It's not just her mom's fault, not to be mean. Her dad plays a role in how she is raised, that is why it is called co-parenting. Really, he needs to step in and set some rules, but it sounds like he operates from guilt. He has to get over that an…

@mshahir your mom is just like mine. I am white married to a Pakistani and she makes the meanest comments. I think the worse was when she Hung up a pic of my husband, me and our nephew at work. Someone asked why she had a pic of terrorists on her…
-
@paige11 don't worry, every baby is so different. How far along are you? It seems like the further you are the less kicks because they have less room.
-
You should contact the principal and discuss your concerns. I know budget cuts have made things tough on teachers, etc. However, being asked to buy community supplies makes zero sense. Why are you having to pay for supplies for other kids? It sou…

@survivormommie3 is right, it's a sign of preeclampsia, but also a sign of kidney infection. This link has some answers: http://www.americanpregnancy.org/prenataltesting/urinetest.html Try not to worry too much and good luck!

Sorry to hear! Stay positive as you may just pass the 3 hour test. Remember, the 1 hour test is just a "warning" - so stay optimistic.
