  • I smoked with my daughter. My sickness was like yours. Literally days with nothing to eat or drink. Got a really bad bladder and kidney infection, dr asked why, so i told her. She knew my history, told me to smoke a little in am and pm so i could eat small meals at least twice a day. Daughter was perfectly healthy, dr didn't test me, she said she knew i was smoking, so there was no point, but if she did test she would have to report a positive result to dfs. We live in missouri.
im 26 weeks now, and had morning sickness, but not as bad as last time. I did smoke occasionally early on, i have no appetite this time, but not vomiting like before. My midwife asked me if i smoked, i told her yes, she gave me a month to get clean, after that, she hasn't tested me. I will hit a doobie every now and then, i have terrible sciatica pain, and after the research i've done, and talking to drs and nurses, pot is safer than prescription drugs. I stopped taking the meds dr gave me for nausea after i saw a commercial by one of those huge law firms advertising birth defects after using the drug. Im on medicaid, so the hospital will test me and baby when she's born. Gonna take my last hit tonight.
a friend of mine smoked through her pregnancy, baby was negative but she tested positive at birth, dfs asked some questions, she went to a class, dfs did a home visit. She tested negative a month after birth, so they dropped the case. It really depends on your dr and the state you live in. I would enroll in a parenting class and talk to other women in your area if they have any stories to tell you about smoking moms in your area. And ask your dr what their point of view is on the mj and pregnancy situation. Tell him you read about it on the forum, and had some questions you thought only a licensed dr could answer. That way you'll know if you can talk to him about your situation or not. Good luck!
  • We got a vaporizer for our anniversary last year. It is awesome. Goes through a lot of weed, but we used the baked stuff to make butter since you can't vape all of the thc. At least not if you're doing right. It tastes funny, but it made some petty interesting snickerdoodles. We just keep a jar for the vaped stuff. Also throw in stems and sometimes shake. Once we've got a lot, we cook it up.

I highly recommend it if you have a special occasion to splurge. We have a gun that inflates bags. I really like it. We used to have one that has a hot tip and you just attach a glass whip and inhale the vaporizer through a plastic hose. It was nice, but I like the bag more. I feel like it burnt the weed too easily. The hot tip one was much quieter, though. I like the vape when I have the flu and other sorts of tummy bugs in general.

I used it maybe three times a week when I was so nauseous I couldn't eat. I was lucky to have just 3 weeks of bad nausea, though, and am feeling much better now. I talked to my mom about it and did some research and comparative reading, and we agreed that a small amount wouldn't hurt. Just enough to ease the nausea, not enough to really even get high.

I also feel confident that my weed wasn't laced with other drugs. I've never even gotten laced weed, first of all. We have trusted sources, and I wasn't the first to sample the bag.

I haven't had too many problems with a life of sobriety since I stopped. My job is pretty stressful, and my coworkers frequently tell me they don't envy my condition and not being able to have even a drink! But it's ok. As long as I have my Planet Earth series to awe me into peace. Totally DVRing it this time round.
  • Thanks @almost4. Shes just not a very happy person is she?

@newmommyofone- my mom smokedthe while time with me and my sis too. And just like @mschelya said we are perfectly fine, just a little creative. Haha. O and if it helps my sis graduated at the top of her class and was on the deans and presidents lists in college with a 4.0 gpa. Obviously my mom smoking didn't affect anything or cause us to be "messed up".
  • Sorry, if you are high, your baby is high. End of story. If u are drunk ur baby is drunk. If u are stoned, your baby is stoned. Drugs, including marijuana, pass thru into the placenta. Ur morning sickness will pass, seek medical help. Why take chances? Listen to ur doctor regarding ur baby's health and no one else. I've seen perfectly healthy parents have severely ill babies, I've seen drug uses, Mary jane too, have extremely sick babies, dont tempt fate. your child will be tested@ birth. Any drugs in its system will cause cps to become involved.
  • Attention please.
This discussion is getting to be a little out of hand. I don't mind the topic per se, but some of the comments are unnecessary. I will keep this conversation open, if & only if, everyone can control tempers, keep their cool & refrain from bashing others. This is a warning to get things back on track & to stop the calling out of others & judging them. If I get anymore complaints, or see anymore problems I will have no other choice than to close this discussion. Thank you.

  • My friends doctor told her that mj doesn't hurt the baby the only concern Is that u don't get stoned to the point where u can accidently harm yourself physically by falling or something of that sort.
  • @almost4 no you would be surprised cali but we live in a conservative county that is all about childrena safety etc.
