Don't only depend on breastfeeding the whole time. It doesn't always work out for you or the baby. (He stopped latching after a while.) So make sure you have money for formula just in case.
If you tear or have stiches get as many ice pack maxi pads as you can the cold is fabulous!! Get chucks pads to lay down under the baby or you so you don't have to change sheets just chucks pads. Keep diapers and wipes in every room you'll be in so you don't have to go far (like upstairs) to change a diaper. If your nursing and ur nipples hurt "angel baby earth mama" has the best thing called nipple butter. Use that and get some gel breast pads to heal cracked nipples. Lanisinoh and medela make the gel coolie pads
Omg when you come home esp. After episiotomy, sitz bath, epifoam, tucks pads, dermoplast, epsom salt baths (actual baths) hoard the disposable undies from the hospital so you dont ruin yours (especially if ur addicted to victoria's secret complete lace undies!) Mostly, relax and enjoy your baby
go the way you planned. 42. Also have bottles ready. I recommend I think they are called breast flow? But wherever works for you. 43. Remember that this is your baby not your mom's and not your in laws. You raise your baby as you see fit. But also don't shut out advice. It's always helpful.
MY # 1 IS DERMAPLAST SPRAY,,,,,, ITS A PAINRELEAVER, AND KILLS GERMS DOWN THERE AND IS GREAT FOR STITCHES,,,, I LOVED IT, THE HOSPITAL gave it tooo me and I bought more just in case
I'm only ttc but i have loved this post... sometimes these are the things not everyone talks about when we speak of pregnancy. luckily i've had some pretty open friends... but this is great!
Even if you intend to breastfeed have formula in the cupboard and sterilized bottles. You never know what might happen and if for some reason you can't feed at 3am you want to know you can still give them something.
Also if you are intending on breastfeed get yourself some nipple shields, baby can do some real damage to your nipples and these can sometimes give you enough relief through a few feeds that you can heal and not have to switch to bottles
@KrazymomofAdrian I never wore pads before either. Gotta go four weeks with pads though then I can use tampons again. Tomorrow I will have one more week to go.
It's crazy to think three weeks ago I had my baby.
I found that Teva pads are the best for heavy flow. They are like the hospital ones but skinnier.
I breast fed my first 2 kids for a week or so. The formula fed them, my first used normal iron formula and everything wad great. My son got blisters on his bum from my breast milk going straight through him cause he was lactose intolerant. So he went on soy formula, and be ate so much I couldn't produce enough milk anyways. I prefer nursing, but things happen.
Also if your baby gets diarrhea, infant or toddler and gets blisters. Do Not use baby wipes to clean them off, take them into the shower and rinse off. And use this miracle paste on their bum.
1 tsp desitin 1 tsp maalox Mix until blended and place on the affected areas. It will clear up overnight.
It's amazing being a mom. I already feel as if he is growing up to fast. Lol. Even though he wakes me up evey three hours in the night, I enjoy every single minute of it.
I remember when I was shopping for his clothes I didn't want to buy a lot of new born clothes because I was told most don't fit into the newborn clothes anyways. People lied to me. I had to go buy more. Lol. And still some new born clothes are to big for him.
And, I'm using the always pads. They are better than the hospitals and are comfortable.

Pay more for the diapers too. It's not worth paying less for a diaper your going to have to change more often.
